Helping the helper

This page is for you if you're a Therapist, Coach or Practitioner

If you are like many of my clients, having your own business as a professional helper while dealing with family life, children (perhaps neurodivergent) or your own neurodivergent self, maybe a difficult childhood you’re recovering from, and the ups and downs of your romantic relationship, struggling without much financial security and so, there is a lot that needs connection, space and processing.

But being the helper professionally often means being the helper in your friendships circles or family as well and not having someone to be that person for you is lonely.
And then there’s the practical part of this where time is sparse and having to pay for and make time for both self-therapy, consultation, supervision (and perhaps also couples therapy and family therapy), is just not possible.
Even finding one Therapist who is a good fit is hard enough, finding 5+ is exhausting, expensive and time consuming.

This is why I love offering all of this together for my helper clients.

How does it work:

For our weekly, bi-weekly or monthly sessions we check in with what is present for you.
Sometimes it’s focusing on one of two of your clients that you’re struggling with.
Sometimes it’s the kids, your partner, your job and so on.
It’s always your internal system of parts (directly or indirectly) and the pain that difficult interactions can trigger into.

The supervision:

Since I am trained and certified not only as an Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapist but also as a Family Therapist and as I am also the creator of New Danish Parenting (NDP), the supervision and consultation we do together has a deep foundation in my knowledge and understanding of human beings, human relationships, trauma, neurodivergent minds, child development, modern attachment theory, the nervous system and respectful science based parenting rooted in love and connection with our children.

We focus on your clients and their journeys when appropriate, we focus on the Therapist-Client relationship and we focus on the internal landscape of the Helper (YOU) in relation to your clients.

When:

How often we meet depends on your specific needs and what is possible and needed for you in regards to time, money and how many clients you see.
The way I see it, I am here to support you, so we will find a rhythm that works for you inner and outer family- and work systems. Be it every week, bi-weekly or monthly.

Why:

Because as helpers we so easily neglect ourselves and unfortunately many helpers feel neglected by the systems they are part of, not because people don’t care, but because we all take on roles in relation to each other, and people often don’t think to help the helper.

In therapy, consultation and supervision with me, the 60 or 90 minutes sessions are your space and I am here to support you in the way that you need, and with the topics and layers that needs your loving connection.

If you, like me identify as a neurodivergent individual, you may not always know what you need, what you want to focus on, why something bothers you or what it is you feel you don’t know yet.
And you may have a few experiences of having to show up in a certain way or live up to the expectations of your therapist.
This is not how I hold space.
This space is for you. And your only job is to show up exactly as you are in any given moment. I will meet you there.
